Ha! Faith restored!

What a week/fortnight ...

After a fab holiday away, I came back all ready to quit griping about the so-and-sos who robbed me and move on, so I immediately toddled off to the bike shop to get a replacement saddle post, saddle and clamp ..

ONLY TO FIND that, according to the repair men in the shop, saddle posts and clamps of that diameter are no longer available to purchase!!!!!!!!!

So I spent a few days on the internet searching for my missing pieces with no luck. I turned to insurance claims to see if my bike was insured since I was now faced with a long charity cycle and NO BIKE!!

And then my wonderful brother came to visit and insisted on walking several miles in search of a particular type of guitar strap he was looking for (actually, it wasn't that far - it just felt like it since I'm now so unfit after my hols). Anyway, we happened to pass by a bike shop on the way back and I saw a bike of the same make as mine in the window, so I popped in and explained the situation and asked for advice. Upshot: the lovely man's response was to snatch said bike from the window, remove saddle post and clamp and say 'These should fit!'

Faith in human nature restored. Many, many thanks to Action Bikes. My bike is now being serviced and I'm busy planning my training over the next few weeks. Big CycleIndia 'group' training weekend coming up in September so watch this space!!
